APIA partners with the IREX Foundation to facilitate Internet access for farmers
11.01.2012
The Agency of Payments and Intervention for Agriculture (APIA) and the IREX Romania Foundation have signed a partnership aiming to facilitate access of Romanian farmers to the Internet. This way, applicants for support methods the agency manages can apply online and land parcels can be managed through an online registry. The protocol was signed by APIA general manager Florin Marius Faur and the director of the Biblionet Romania programme, Paul-Andre Baran.
In 2012, the agency and Biblionet will organise training and informational sessions for librarians, in all 41 County Libraries, in order to offer farmers the information necessary to fill online the surface statements as part of the per-surface support requests SAPS. The Biblionet programme will include over 1,500 libraries (county and local) equipped with 6,460 computers and the necessary equipment.
More than 2,000 librarians will be trained.
