Searching for a book among the 11,000 volumes in the Hârşova City Library, Constanţa County, is now easier than ever, with the help of computers. The internet-connected computers also help citizens contact other libraries in the county or plan their holidays.
The manager of the Electronic Network of the Local Community (RECL), Adina Bucur, has become personally involved in teaching the users of library computers. “I have offered my services, as a volunteer, in order to train users. We have 11,000 books, so it was hard to do two things at once: help people find the volumes they need and assist computer users. Now, it has become easier”, the RECL manager says. The first computer arrived at the Hârşova City Library thanks to the Knowledge-based Economy Project (KEP).
