Many residents of Târgu Frumos (Iaşi) visited the library on the night of October 1st to October 2nd, to enjoy the novel activies organised on the “Libraries’ Night”. Among them, the inauguration of the “Art and creation” club, a painting exhibition, start for the “Book come alive” campaign, a guitar recital, a poetry recital, awards gala for volunteers. The Targu Frumos Library, one of the local RECL nodes, and the PAPI centre, opened their gates at 6 PM.
In the rich, warm, and welcoming autumn atmosphere, guests were delighted by the recital of the Melody group from the local Children’s Club. Niculina Petrov recited poetry, volunteers received awards for their efforts, while the “Robert and the gang” group had an entire recital (Robert Gaşpar – voice, Irinel Diaconu – sax, Alin Costin – voice and guitar).
The large audience crowded the reading room, enjoyed the moments of byzantine, classic and modern music and the poetry moments; they appreciated the libraries’s initiative of rewarding volunteers, pupils in local schools who, during the entire summer holiday turned into little librarians. The best of them received diplomas, books and bookmarks. In the end, they were invited to a small party with music, cake and karaoke.
