The Agency of Payments and Intervention for Agriculture (APIA) announced that requests for the state aid in agriculture regarding payments of insurance premiums will be received until October 31st 2011 inclusively.
The state aid refers to the insurance policies signed with insurance companies for cultures started in spring 2011 (trees and fruit trees, hop and vineyards – except grapes for wine which receive support according to OMADR nr. 756/2008).
According to H.G. no. 756/2010, with the later changes and additions, the state aid is offered as a partial reimbursement of the cost of insurance premiums that farmers pay, as follows: 70% of premiums covering losses due to severe weather, comparable to natural disasters; 50% of premiums covering losses due to severe weather, comparable to natural disasters, or other losses caused by severe weather and/or losses caused by animal diseases, plant diseases or parasitic infestation.
