Increasing interest in project management training
17.02.2011
| The project management training organised by the commune of Apateu for managers of PAPI centres was attended by someone not employed by RECL, but wants to keep learning permanently. She is Corina Ciobanu, a teacher at the “Vladimir Streinu” school in Teiu, county of Argeş. The training took place between December 13th and 17th 2010, in Moeciu de Sus, and was organised as part of CONECT – Partnership programme between local KEP communities. |
The CONECT project is simply called FOR (from the initials for Training, Organisation, Networking) and its principal aim to get RECL personnel trained in project management and instructing a series of trainers. Other people are, however, interested in learning such skills. “I’ve always belived that a person with respect both for himself and other will never stop at what he knows, but always try to be more informed, so that he can teach other later. He can make sure his actions have positive effects on those around him”, Corina Ciobanu says.
A personal profile
The young teacher from Teiu was chosen to attend the trainings, although she is not employed by RECL, because she deals with projects in the field of education, and has even won several projects so far. She also participated in programme such as a preparatory visit for Comenius - Sciacca, Sicily, December 2009, Comenius contact seminar - Bilbao, Spania, November 2010, Individual Mobility – Comenius - Bordeaux, France 2010. All these projects took place through the National Agency for Community Programmes in Education and Professional Training. Also, Corina Ciobanu attended, with children, a series of national competition, where children won awards and had very good results. Among them, Schoolvision, the Twinning Project and e-Holiday. During the latter, children won second prize in the Summer 2010 edition.
A unique experience
The training organised through CONECT was attended by ten people, RECL members from KEP communities in Arad, Argeş, Bihor, Dâmboviţa, Giurgiu, and Teleorman. During the “Project management” module, they learned about planning a project, risk analysis, implementing a project, procurement, evaluation HR management, as well as practical applications about creating a project. “It was a unique experience for me, that offered me the opportunity to learn how other projects work besides those in education, compare project types, better myself and especially realise the proverb is true: the more you learn, the more you realise how little you know”, Ciobanu says.
Another beautiful part of the experience was meeting people from all over Romania she had heard about or with whom she had in common involvement in the Knowledge-based Economy Project (KEP). Corina like work was always in teams. “That was great for the project we had to accomplish, since I’ve always thought that the success of a project is mainly due to the team working on it and only then other details, if I can call them taht. I would like to take the opportunity to thank my team mates, as well as our trainers who knew how to get our attention during the entire course”, Corina Ciobanu says. She thinks all the knowledge received in a systematic fashion during this course will be useful in writing other project for non-reimbursable funds in her school. She also said she realised that an ample project means hard work, but no impossibilities.
What the CONECT programme is
The CONECT partnership programme aims to promote and develop real partnerships between communities and social actors, at the same time consolidating a frame for partnerships meant to capitalise local resources, infrastructure and IT&C instruments as a vehicle for sustainable development in KEP communities.
The partnership programme was initiated by the Ministry of Communications and Informational Society, through the KEP. It aims to facilitate the transfer of good practice models to integrate Electronic Networks of the Local Community (RECL) in community life; support the community development process; supporting partnerships and cooperative projects in the KEP communities and external, relevant actors; encouraging the use of Internet resources; encouraging and motivating RECL personnel to actively get involved in various professional development projects and networking projects.
