History: Amărăşti

Amărăşti was documentary certified for the first time in 1779. Amărăşti commune from Vâlcea County, has its name from a boyar family Amărăscu, people that gave the name to another two communes in Dolj County: Amăraştii de Jos and Amăraştii de Sus.
