Residents of Grădiştea inaugurated a small ethnographic museum on the feast of the Holy Virgin. The local librarian gathered several objects specific to the area, considering this to be the only way in which local youth will remember their roots. The museum was inaugurated with ceremony, but its promotion will be handed over to PAPI employees, especially since the museum could become a tourist objective.“The museum is located in the communal park. Lots of locals attended the inauguration and locals of the Grădiștea Highschool put on a show”, RECL manager Liviu Diţoiu says.
The small museum features several objects collected by librarian Ilie Fârtat from the attics of local homes, restored to their former glory and brought together in a collection which speaks volumes about Grădiștea. “By creating this museum, we want to keep local ethnocultural values unaltered, preserve our identity in a time of excessive globalization”, mayor Ilie Boiangiu says.
