Comenius project reunion in Madrid
30.11.2011
The fourth reunion of the Comenius project „Colours, Sweeteners and Calories in Food Products” was organised in Madrid, Spain. The secondary school in Stoileşti (Vâlcea) was represented by teachers Cristian Ionel Din and Ştefan Mărgăritescu, as well as two pupils, Andrei Drăgulescu and Roxana Gibaru.
The topic of the reunion in Madrid was analysing colours used in yogurt and ice-creams, so often eaten by young people; the trip included an experiment to colour several foodstuffs with various colorants. The Spanish partners also organised an activity about the food offered to children in partner school during the main meals of the day. A conclusion was formulated: as an effect of globalisation, children in EU countries have begun having common eating habits.
Participants also visited the Danone factory in Madrid and several cultural attractions, both in the capital of Spain and in Toledo. The reunion in Spain ended by establishing the steps that must be taken until the next reunion scheduled for January 2012 in Greece.
