Local newspaper in Homocea
20.10.2011
In Homocea (Vrancea County) a new publication with a circulation of 1,000 copies was printed for the first time and will be distributed for free, each month, in the three villages of the commune. “The Homocea Gazette” (Romanian title: „Gazeta de Homocea”) has 12 pages and offers citizens a large and diverse array of information, from news regarding local investments or about European funds.
PAPI manager Adina Grama had an important part in creating the newspaper, as she is in charge of gathering information, writing articles and sending them to the newsroom where the newspaper is being published. According to her, the idea of having a local newspaper was born out of a desire to keep locals informed about the place they live in.
“We want to have more informed residents, we want them to know what’s going on in the commune where they live and work every day. There are many things that take place in the commune, but people do not have access to them. This is why, by printing this newspaper, we hope for the locals to be up to date with everything happening in Homocea”, Adina Grama explains.
She says that the newspaper will help promote RECL services, local values and traditions, tourist attractions, local news and events, as well as local interest information.
