The feast of the Sânpaul commune, organised with help from PAPI
11.07.2011
| RECL employees at the PAPI centre in Sânpaul helped organise the Commune Days. The event took place on June 29th, and on July 2nd and 3rd 2011. |
The feast was organised by the City Hall and Local Council of Sânpaul, in partnerhsip with the Cluj County Centre for the Promotion and Preservation of Traditional Culture. „RECL employees are taking part in organising the event, PAPI being the focal point for distributing necessary materials and ensuring the technical means”, Liana Bandilă, Sânpaul RECL manager, says.
PAPI kept in touch with invited artists, promoted the event in the media and offered organisers its infrastructure. “We ensured everything connected to promoting the event both locally and at county level. We created invitations and posters, as well as the layout of ads running online and in print media”, Codruţ Verde, IT administrator, explains.
Invited to the event was His Eminence Andrei Andreicuţ, Metropolitan of Cluj, Alba, Crişana and Maramureş, who held a religious service. He also participated in decorating two people as honourary citizens of the commune: sculptor Eugen Gocan and, post-humously, poet and publicist Ioan Alexandru.
Eugen Gocan graduated the “Ion Andreescu” Art Institute in Cluj-Napoca in 1966 and became a professor of the same institutions. He has exhibitions since 1967. Poet Ioan Alexandru, translator and political figure, is the one who stood up with a cross to the troops during the Revolution and the miners in Parliament. Ioan Alexandru was born in Topa Mică, Sânpaul commune, on December 25th 1940.
The programme continued with award festivities for local administration guests, such as priests, mayors and councillors, golden couples and octogenarians, war widows and veterans and main sponsors.
“The Ioan Alexandru school in Sânpaul put on a show. The programme also included a folkloric show with Cristian Pomohaci, Amalia Codrean-Chindriş, "Dor Transilvan" Ensemble, SOmeşeni Gypsy Ensemble, Suceag Children’s Ensemble, Gîrbău Children’s Ensemble”, the RECL manager says.
The Cultural Centre hosted the opening of an ethnography exhibition, and in the evening a ball took place. Sunday, on the third day of the feast, there was a football game between the teams in Sînapul and Gârbău.
“The event was a success, and PAPI and RECL employees proved they are an important part of the community”, Liana Bandilă says.
Similar KEP initiatives
The support offered by PAPI personnel in various events organised in KEP communities is already a routine. Be it cultural, educational or scientific, such events are much easier to organise and have a larger impact once PAPI offered its support and equipment. For instance, PAPI was involved in organising one of the events taking place during the Baru Commune Days on June 12th and 13th 2011.
Basically, the IT administrator took care of promoting the event, offering technical support using existing equipment at PAPI and organising the cultural show than ended the day.
