Community: Balta Albă
Situated in the eastern county of Buzau, at a distance of 22 km from Rm Sărat, Balta Albă village belongs to the Romanian Plain, being characterized by a relatively flat surface, large areas high and low, caused by aeolian depositions specific to the plain areas.
In this village, Balta Albă lake can be found, where it functioned the most famous spa in Romania, due to sapropelique mud, which has special qualities and is used both in pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Since 1847 there were found numerous mineral springs that help this water to help treat rheumatism and neurological diseases. Balta Albă village is a special settlement, on its terroitory existing two natural reserves, Balta Albă lake and Amara lake, with vegetation similar to that of the Danube Delta.
