Bărbulețu commune, certified at 4 January 1574, has a surface of 2.466 ha, with a population 2.463 inhabitants, 100% Romanians. Este Situated in the north-west part of Dâmbovița county, la 39 Km from Târgoviște, in Curbura Subcarpathians, at the foot of Leaota Mountains. Its a hilly zone, with the altitude of 846 m in Coman's Hill, 860 m Bărbulețu Hill și 810 m Iacov's Peak, highly fragmented by the de Rau Alb brook with a lenght of 25 Km and Bărbuleț, brook 8 Km.
From all the things that are proud of, two of them are the most important ones for Barbuletu commune's inhabitants:
- church that has The Assumption of the Virgin, whose bases were laid during the reign of Michael the Brave and which was finished in 1662 by Radu Cretulesc.

History
Bărbulețu name comes from an inhabitant that was wearing the name of Barbu, who was clerk at the local church and together with another two dynasts from Laculete hermitage, were holding the religious services.
