Community: Cătina
Cătina is a commune in Cluj County, Transylvania, consisting of six villages. The commune is situated in Fizeşului Plain, on the upper course of Fizeş river, in the eastern part of Cluj County, on the border with Bistrita-Nasaud County towards East and South-East. It is neighboring to the North with Buza village, to the West with Geaca village and to the South-West with Cămăraşu village, all three communes being located in Cluj County.
Cătina is proud with the beauty of natural and anthropogenic landscapes and warm hospitality, traditional customs and folklore well preserved in the ancient hearth housing.
History
The existence of Cătina commune is attested since Neolithic through the various elements of material culture found in agricultural works or water erosion. The materials found were subjected to scientific analysis, and therefore received the approval of specialists from the National History Museum of Transylvania in Cluj-Napoca.
