Community: Costeşti
Costesti commune is placed in a hollow surrounded by hills, in the eastern part of Iasi county, being formed of Costesti village (which also includes Pietrisu village) and Giurgesti, spreading on a distance of 8 km.
Costesti commune has two worhship places of historical importance, the first dating since 1594, since the age of Stefan the Greatest, decorated with icons that preserve the old oils from saints faces painted on churche's altar screen, and the second dates since 1814, it ws build by Ion Strat Paharnicul, Mihai Sturza advicer, a stone construction, with thick walls that are unmoved of almost two hundred years.
History
The first human settlements on this valley date since the Stone Age. Due to the diggins made by Ciurea professor from Falticeni, it was discovered the first hearth of the village, many objects were found (pottery, stone axe,idols, ovens, tombs).
