Community: Ilia
Ilia is located in Mureşului Valley. Ilia commune is composed by 9 villages: Ilia, Bacea, Bretea Muresana, Braznic, Cuies, Dumbrăviţa, Sacamas, Sirbi and Valea Lunga. According the the relief forms, Ilia and Bretea Mureşană have their houses in the meadow, and Brâznic, Săcămaş, Bacea, Cuieş and Sârbi have their houses at the contact point between the meadow and the hills on the Mountains Poiana Ruscăi and Metaliferi foot. Valea Lungă village is placed on Văii Batrâne's flow, and Dumbrăviţa is placed on the foot of Metaliferi Mountains.
People of Ilia is proud of a multi-millenary settlement, an area of trade interes, a former area fair, the commune being an exceptional place for tourism. The elders of the place, preserving in their souls the ancient times, declare that even nowadays, those who drink the god's water, the water from Ilia, never leave the place or return, just as Zalmoxis did.
History
It is said that since the great invasion of the Tatars, on Mures valley lived a very skilled hunter, named Ilie, along with his daughter, left motherless at birth.
