Community: Laslea
Laslea meet community in many aspects of the Transylvanian Romanian rural area, but has specific elements and as a result of combustion events in the crucible of history. It would be a lot to say if and only take a brief overview of population distribution at the beginning of century XX century, in 1295 lived Laslea inhabitants, of which Saxon in the proportion of 77.99%, Romanian, 13.74%, Hungary 2.16% and others 6.10% (source - apud Nicolae Nistor, Mircea Marinescu Ash - Sibiu region and in the light of history, vol II, Ed Dacia Cluj Napoca 1990, pg 9 - 12). Over a century after two world wars, the years of communism and accession to the European Union, the village has changed, and people, too. From data collected by staff of the Mayor Laslea in 2006 in the village Laslea vieţuiesc 3370 people, of which: Romanian 46.64%, 41.92% of Roma (gypsies), Saxon 10.44%, 0.97% unguri. The relief of the village is specific through a large number of valleys. Many of these valleys are actually water courses, as follows:
Commune Laslea enjoys a special landscape, characterized by exceptional biodiversity that has the purpose to incorporate into a larger protected area, the site 2000 Tîrnava Mare. In harmony with landscape people desăvîrşesc this diversity through membership of certain ethnic groups , religious or sociale. History
