Lelese is a commune in Hunedoara County, located at a distance of 48 km from Deva town and at 31 km from Hunedoara town. The commune has 4 composing villages: Lelese, Cerişor, Runcu-Mare and Sohodol.
The area is very beautiful, people are very welcoming and hardworking.
History
Vestiges of these lands being inhabited ere found in caves from Runcu-Mare, Cauce - Cerişor, date from the early Neolithic era and shows continuity with the Bronze Age, Iron, Dacian era, Roman era until the Middle Ages.

The greatest part Lelese commune is is occupied by grassland and forests, which promotes breeding, the peak was recorded before the Second World War, when village farmers bought land on the range of several communes and towns, currently holding mountaineous pastures and grassland on the surface of 3264 hectares.

Traditions specific to all forest people and furthermore to our commune are "nedeile pădureneşti"/ parties typical for the forestry area, counting the sheep, Saint Toader Holiday and family habits specific for the place, the wedding and funeral.
