Community: Marghita
Marghita city, one of the youngest Romanian cities, is located in the North-Western part of the country, in the northern part of Bihor County, at only 30 km from the Romanian-Hungarian border. The distance from Oradea, administrative centre of Bihor County, is 57 km North-East. The city (mentioned in documents in 1216, named city in 1967 and then town in 2003) is located on the right bank of Barcău river, contact between Viişoarei Hills and Barcău Plain, near its confluence with Bistrei Valley.
Predominant vegetation in the area is represented by the leafy forests in the north and northeast of the city. Forest species most widely spread are the oak, the holm, and some resinous plants. The land surrounding the city is also occupied by agricultural cultivation, meadow or shrubs. Parks and green spaces of the city occupies about 7 hectares, with vegetation specific for these arrangements. Tourists can find in the forests on the outskirts of town Marghita the ideal destination to collect raspberry, mulberry and other fruit woods.
History
Marghita town is part of Bihor land (Crișurilor Country). It seems that Marghita would have existed since the years 500 A.C, being situated in the ancient Dacia, Romanianization free. By the end of first millennium, Marghita together with the whole Bihor land were part of Menumorut's Voivodeship.

Tourist potential of the city promotes the practice of health tourism, weekend cultural tourism, rest, recreation and leisure. The forests surrounding the town create many opportunities for tourism diversification, being imposed the construction of specific recovery facilities appropriate to these natural resources.
