Community: Râu Alb
Râu Alb commune is situated in the North-West of Dâmboviţa county, at approximatly 45 km from Târgovişte municipality, the political-administrative center of Damboviţa county and 53 km from Sinaia city (touristical resort of Prahova county), including the villages Râu Alb de Jos (commune residence) and Râu Alb de Sus (component village). As relief, Râu Alb comprises a part of the Subcarpatic Hills from the foot of the Leaota Mountain with an altitude between 600 and 900 m. The locality is set in a microclimate area being protected by cold draughts from North, with mild winters and cool summers. Râu Alb commune has as neighbours in North the communes of Runcu and Pucheni, in West, South - West and South Bărbuleţu commune, in South - Eastla Pietrari commune and in East Vulcana-Băi commune.

History
Two thick "polonezi" (type of dessert) from 1596 discovered on the teritory of the village prove the age of teh settlement.
