Community: Şaru Dornei
Dornei Saru village is located in Plateau Dornelor at the western limit of the county, behind Călimani massif, an area dominated by terraces intramontane (şesuri) with a rocky soil, poor, agriculture is not fair, along rivers Black Sea Sarişorul and their tributaries; versanti dominate the forests and alpine pastures. Commune is divided into 7 administrative villages which are arranged radially on the mountain brooks of: Saru-Dornei (common center), Şarului Black, Gura Haitii, Saris, Sarişoru Mare Plaiul Şarului Saru and Bukovina. Precipitation and topography characteristic area favored the development of an extensive groundwater aquifers, which gives rise to the surface in streams, many of them with a high concentration of minerals, as if "Borcutului" from Saru Dornei. Mountain peony flower is a rare, declared a natural monument and is in a certain area in Călimani National Park, which adjoins the village saru Dornei. During this period, when blooming, the flower and take over two weeks, peony creates a magical carpet for a special sheen that you love the look.
History
Commune Dornei Saru is attested in historical documents since 1630, is situated in the ancient hearth Dornelor country, inhabited by survivors of the fighters before descălecării (1330 nn), the villagers of legendary and heroic times which are different from people from lowland through their traditions, and by the way it is presented.

Local resources
The activities of the inhabitants are predominantly engaged in agriculture, especially livestock farming. The village is situated in an area and arable land mounted are limited. In general, the soil is rocky and poor, agriculture is not friendly, except for potato culture.
