Community: Siminicea
Siminicea commune lies in the northern part of Moldavia, in the east of Suceava county. The two villages which make up the commune, Siminicea and Grigoreşti are located at 20 km away from the county residence, Suceava town.
The nowadays territory of the Siminicea commune has been populated since the Neolithic Era, as the archaeological discoveries from Feteşti Schit prove. Considering the fact that the neolithic populations had an increased cultural level (as the decoration of their ceramics and tools prove), these people have carefully chosen their settlement place, that is on today's Siminicea commune territory. Today's village hearth is located in a favourable area from the relief point of view, so that the hydrological, geographical and geological risks are highly reduced. The diversity of the relief where Siminicea commune lies induces a feeling of pride and attachment towards these native lands.
