Sinesti village is located in the extreme south of Iasi County, Moldavia, Romania.
Located in the hilly area of Moldova Plateau with slopes directed north-south, with narrow plates, crossed by brooks that flow in the north.The climate is temperate-continental, relatively execisa the shade, but also influenced by the forest. Average annual rainfall is 500 cm, as uneven regime. Winds most common blow in the north, northwest, south and south-east the dominant direction is north-west.The hydrographic network is poor, with few bucks and springs, groundwater sheet is at approx. 8-10 m depth, except Oşoi village where it is on the surface (4-6 m depth). The predominant soil is gray and brown forest podzolit, having however, categories of low fertility.
The area is well forested with over 49% forest.
History
Sinesti village dated about the end of the reign of Alexandru cel Bun, by the year 1432, and the name is drawn, it seems, after the first governor of the place, namely a Sin, which is mentioned in several documents at the end of XIV century century and the beginning of the XV century.
