Spinuş commune is a relatively small one with approximately 1300 persons that live in a relatively different medium , far from the town’s strees and industrial pollution.
Relief and climate
The territory of Spinuş commune is situated in the hilly area of Plopiş Mountains and the area of passing to Barcăului meadow in the North-Western part of the commune. Spinuş commune neighbours in the Northern part with Chişlaz commune, in the East with Derna commune, in the South with Brusturi commune , in the West with Sârbi commune and in the North-West with Ciuhoi commune. The Spinus territory totally belongs to the sector of continental weather, being part of the territory with hilly weather. Summers are very hot and dry and winters are very cold.

Spinuş commune has a surface of 3026 ha, from which 1555 ha are agricultural lands, 652 ha are grasslands, 209 ha are hayfields, 85 ha are represented by vineyards and orchards, the 525 ha area of

History
Spinuş commune is made up of Spinuş, Ciuleşti, Nădar, Sălişte and Gurbeşti villages. Spinuş village, commune centre, is documentarily attested from 1523.
