Community: Topolog
Located northwest of Dobrogea, Topolog is a commone in the north-west of Tulcea county, at an altitude of 350m, on national highway 22 which connects the city of Tulcea to Harsova. The Settlement is situated at the highest elevation in the county, being located in the central-north of the Plateau Casimcea with easy links to major cities in the region: 110 km of Constanta, Tulcea 54 km Harsova Babadag 45 km and 35 km. The creation of Topolog village is linked to the occupation and the completea dministrative integration of Dobrogea by the Ottoman Empire, the exact establishment can not be determined, but one may believe that the village was founded by indigenous Romanians or pastors caught in old Transylvanian oscillation of transhumance, which renounced Austrian citizenship , remaining permanently in the territory of Dobrogea.
The Settlement is proud of its hardworking people, people who respect traditional Romanian customs and traditions of the area and are an example of coexistence between communities or ethnic groups (Romanian, Aromanians, Lipovans, Bulgarians, Turks), Dobrogea is one of the territories which contains the largest number of ethnic groups living in full understanding.
History
At first the town was composed of two settlements: Topala-ava and Topala-Ak, ie Roman Topology and topology Tătar, with names appearing for the first time in Ottoman Defterul General of 1573.
