City Uricani part of the Carpathians, called pressure tectanoerozivă «Jiu Valley" or "Petrosani". The village is dominated by mountain peaks and Retezat Vâlcan with a large opening to the east and the increasingly narrow, to the west.

History
The first document of the city, appearing in 1818, as Hobiceni-Uricani name worn by the Union in 1918.
