Community: Valea Sării
Valea Sării commune is located in Vrancea County, in the hollow area of the Sub-Carpathians and alonside the river Putna. The commune is composed by the villages: Valea Sării – the communal residence village, Mătăcina, Colacu, Poduri, Prisaca.
A truly sensational discovery was made on the brook Bozu, from Valea Sării, which led to the declaration of the area as a protected one. Scientific importance of the natural reserve of Bozu brook consists of an abundance of traces of animals and plants from 5-7 million years ago, which were perfectly preserved on a sandstones aggregate.
History
The commune is passed by Putna river and years of history. Through Colacu village, Valea Sării commune, during the Second World War, German armies would cross the roads and go into the deep forests that are not too far away.
