EPSA 2011

The Knowledge Based Economy Project has received a new certification of Good Practice at the 2011 „European Public Sector Awards” (EPSA) within the European Institution of Public Administration.

The Best Practice Certificate has been received upon three evaluation steps made by an experienced jury, comprising a shortlist of 58 nominees from a total of 274 projects from 33 participating countries. The Ministry of Communications and Information Society, through the Project Management Unit, competed  in the EPSA 2011 Awards at the „Smart Public Service in a Cold Economic Climate”category. This Best Practice distinction rewards and certify the outstanding results that KEP Project has had until now.

 

The COMPUTERWORLD Honors Program

The Project Management Unit, within the Ministry of Communications and Information Society, has been named a Laureate in the 2011 ComputerWorld Honors Program.

The „Knowledge based Economy Project” joins 254 others from 23 countries as Laureates in this year’s program, from more than 1000 applicants world wide.

The Awards Ceremony will be held in June, 20th 2011, in Washington D.C., USA.

 

National Agency of Public Servants

1st Prize at the National Competition of Best Practices in Public Administration, , for "Improving public services through quality management and organizational performance" category, organized by the National Agency of Public Servants in 2010.

Knowledge based Economy Project is considered to be an example of good practice in Romania's public administration due to its remarkable results, its proven efficiency and its disseminated practices.

 

THE HIGHEST HONOR IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Finalist, at the International Project Excellence Awards 2010, in "Project Excellence in Medium-Sized Projects" category, organized by the International Project Management Association (IPMA).

The solid implementation and success of the IT&C Training Program in school and business and the eCommunity.ro Portal, both part of the KEP Project, have impressed the IPMA jury (Project Management International Association), who recommends them as one of the most important achievements in project management.

 

e-Inclusion 2008

Medal at the e-Inclusion Competitionorganized by the European Commission, at the section “Geographic Inclusion” section, Vienna, 2008. The Knowledge based Economy Project is considered an example of good practice for effective use of IT&C and digital technology to tackle social disadvantage and digital exclusion.

 

Romanian IT&C Awards 2006

Knowledge Based Economy was considered to be the "Project with the best informational content" at the Romanian IT&C Awards – Bucharest, 2006, for contributing to the extensive process of expanding access to information technologies and modern communications to rural communities.

Community: Vişina

Visina commune is situated in the southern extremity of Dâmboviţa County in Plain Găvanu Burdea. Visina commune consists of the following villages: Visina (village residence) Broşteni (is 1 km from the village) and Izvoru (4 km). Relief leans slightly on the direction NW-SE followed by the flowing water, which is confirmed by the relative elevation of 190 meters height in the NW and 169 meters to the SE, tilting towards the Plain of Titu-Potlogi . Tilting slopes plain is more pronounced in the NW of the village and the territory becomes slow in the SE, scoring well water turn-of Neajlov Dâmbovnic. The relief consists of inter-fluvial fields and fluvial valleys and micro-relief consisting of krov.

Vişina history has important vestiges that show its past in all its evolution, transforming it into a landmark in southern Dambovita County. Green spaces are generally the basic attributes in the Romanian territorial communes. Green space is a tradition in most events, from the flower decorated alleys around homes and public institutions to public gardens, parks or special facilities such as sports fields. Green spaces also become an oasis of beauty and enchantment for tourists and locals.
A major tourist attraction within the village is ''Poiana Narciselor''(Narcissus stellarius), located on the left side of Neajlov river. The Romanian Academy by its Commission for the Protection of Monuments of Nature, favoured its status of protected area Valley Narcissus stellaris, suggesting it should be protected as a reservation by academy member Dan Munteanu. In this clearing every year,when narcissuses blossom, celebrations are being held , involving local authorities, teachers, students, locals and guests. In

History

There are two versions concerning the name of Vişina commune, which have become a legend and have been oraly transmitted from a generation to the next. The first version, according to the elders, dates back to the years 1450 until 1550 and could be found on Baracului Hill, around Mateeştilor Lake.

With a population of 4334 inhabitants, out of whom 54% is the active population of the commune, Vişina commune has a large number of workforce potential. Vişina commune is one of the greatest arable soils in Dâmboviţa County.

The commune's spiritual life is caring different forms. In general, the locals' traditional folk literature is closely connected to the people's daily life and activities. Folk has been close to the locals souls in the four centuries of existance, in all circumstances.

Pastraveni, rural settlement of the rank of Joint, is located in the north-eastern territory of Neamţ county, 45 km NE of city Piatra Neamt, 46 km NW of the Roman city and 18 km SE of town Tirgu Neamt is bounded by the following neighborhood: the North - Urecheni village, in the South - Ţibucani common to East - Mirosloveşi commune, Iasi County and the West - Petricani common as stretching from north to south and measures 4 km from east to west 11 km.
