Community: Fântânele Suceava
The Fântânele commune belongs to Suceava county, consisting of the following villages: Fântânele, Băneşti, Stamate, Slobozia and Cotu Dobei. The villages are remarcable by means of their own local holidays, fanfare, the popular dances ensemble and the vocal groups. On the village's territory one can find the tomb of Mihai Eminescu's grandmother and an important church inaugurated in 1648 which is named A« Sfântul Nicolae A» - words in Hebrew engraved into stone.
The advantages of the area are: hardworking people, the presence of fields with a productive potential and the honesty of the inhabitans.
History
The Fântânele commune and its respective villages witness a late written endorsement. Up to now, on the commune's territory were discovered settlements dating back to the Paleolithic, Neolithic and the Age of Metals.
