Luduș town is in the centre of the Transylvanian Plateau, in the West to Mureș county. It is situated 46' 29'' Northern latitude and 24' 05'' Eastern longitude. The medium altitude at which the town is situated is 276 m.
It is situated 45 km West-South-West from îrgu-Mureș, 12 km West from Iernut, 26 km far from Turda and 40 km from Sărmaşu.
Luduş has the following neighbours: Aţântiş, Bogata, Cheţani, Tăureni and Sânger.
History
Luduș was first part of Dacia, then of the Roman Empire, after that, of state formations common to the beginning of the Middle Age, of Transilvania Principality dominated by the Magyar nobility (12th-16th centuries), of Transilvania Principality dominated by the Ottomans (16th-17th centuries) and of Austria-Hungary (1867-1918).
